It is our experience that each motorhome in our rental fleet will be rented to 15 to 18 customers per year. Income for you during the months of July and August can be as high as $2,800 per month.

Requirements for Renting a Travel Trailer

Travel Trailer Requirements: For all trailers a Class III Hitch that is rated for up to 10,000 lbs. is required. Class III hitches are square tube receiver-type hitches that are frame-mounted under the rear bumper will not be accepted. The ball size for all trailers is 25/16 inches.

Trailer Towing Regulation: All towing vehicles must be in good running condition and equipped with tires to carry the extra weight. Some trucks and vans may require the spare tire to be removed for towing clearance. If you have an automatic transmission, a transmission cooler is recommended for the smaller trailers and required for the larger ones. Check with your auto dealership for the towing capacities of your vehicles.

Trailer and Tow Vehicle Braking System: All of our trailer rentals have electric brakes, thus, your tow vehicle must have an electronic brake control device. This electronic brake device is usually mounted to the left of the steering wheel and lights up when you press on the brakes, indicating that the electric brakes are operating properly.

Trailer Electric Plug: Depending on the size of your tow vehicle, the electrical plug mounted on the rear of your vehicle should be a 7-way Bargeman plug. This plug is approximately 13/4 inches in diameter with 6 flat prongs on the outer edge and one round prong in the center.
